Inpaint an area

Optional: paint over a specific area, then describe the edit.

Paint over the part to change. Here, the blue mask marks the spoon for removal.

For most edits, attach an image and describe the change. Use Inpaint when you want to point to a particular area.

Mark the area

Choose Edit / Inpaint beneath a finished image. In the canvas, paint over the area you want to change. Adjust Size for a smaller or larger brush; use Eraser, Undo, Redo or Clear Mask to refine the selection.

Describe the edit

This example uses Nano Banana 2 and Count 1:

Remove the silver spoon from the painted area. Rebuild the travertine surface to match the surrounding stone. Keep the cup, steam, lighting and framing unchanged.

Press the arrow to generate. The painted area guides the edit; review the whole image afterward.
