# Video Restyle / AI VFX

Explore the restyle preview, prepare a frame mask, and try a first-frame look.

The current **Video Restyle / AI VFX** workspace is a **local preview**. **Generate** prepares a local request; it does not submit a cloud generation or use credits. The videos shown in the workspace are existing examples. Reloading clears your local edits and prepared requests.

## Choose a source and a direction

Open **Video Restyle / AI VFX** in the sidebar. Select an example or use **Replace video** to choose your own source. Play or scrub the source to inspect the performance.

Write what should change and what should stay. For example:

Choose a **Restyle mode**, such as Creative Restyle, Relight, Mask-based Restyle or First-frame Restyle. Add an optional **Reference** and review the output settings. These controls prepare the request in this preview.

## Mark a frame

Open **Mask**, then pause or choose a frame from the filmstrip. Use **Select** for a rectangular selection, **Brush** to paint, or **Erase** to refine it. Adjust the brush size and use Undo, Redo or Clear when needed.

With **Keep selected** on, the blue area is the part you want to preserve. Turn it off to mark the area you want to change. Check the instruction beneath the controls before preparing the request.

A manual selection on the frame at 00:00. It does not track the subject through the video.

Masks belong to the frame you marked. They are not an automatic subject cutout or an AI-tracked mask across the clip.

## Explore a first-frame look

Open **First frame** to work from the source video's opening frame at **00:00**. Write a first-frame prompt and select an image model. **Restyle frame** prepares an image-edit request locally; cloud image generation is not connected in this preview.

The actual source opening frame and four prepared example looks. The examples were not generated by the button in this session.

The four **Example looks** are available for the matching example source. Select a look to inspect it and use its first frame in your prepared restyle setup.

## Compare and prepare

Use **Clean**, **Side by side** or **Slider** to inspect an example. Choose Compact or Large, play the clip, and move the comparison divider to check the same moment on each side.

When the source, prompt and required mask or first frame are ready, choose **Generate**. A **Local request · not generated** card records the setup for the current visit. It is not a finished video or a submitted cloud job.
