# Edit video with references Give an existing clip a new look using an image as a visual reference. The result is a separate video node. ## 1. Add an edit step Select your source video. Open **Actions → Video Edit** to create a connected edit node. In the new node, choose **Gemini Omni 1.1 Flash**. ## 2. Connect the reference image Drag from the image's output handle to the edit node's **Reference image** input. Use **Reference image**, not **First frame**, for this workflow. First-frame input is for starting a new video from a still; here, you are editing an existing clip. ## 3. Describe the change Type **@** and choose the connected image to insert its chip. Keep the exact blue cup, its steam and the original camera movement. One continuous five-second shot. No cuts, text or new objects. ``` ## 4. Run and review Check **16:9**, **5s**, the model and both connections. Use **Run** on the edit node to reuse the existing inputs; you do not need to regenerate the source. Play the whole result. Compare the subject, movement and audio with the source—generative editing can change details beyond your instruction. The still appears as a new **Imported** image node; your video stays unchanged. You can reuse it as an image reference or as the [first frame of a new video](https://www.creativly.ai/docs/flow/image-to-video). ### First, current or last frame? **Current Frame** lets you choose a moment. **First Frame** and **Last Frame** take a still from the start or end of the existing clip.
